ABOUT ME

My career began 12 years ago when I decided to start a writing business after reading a book by Steve Slaunwhite.

The book, Start and Run a Copywriting Business, was all it took for a much younger and naive me to create my own job.In that time, my career in content production has enabled me to work with some of the world’s biggest brands.The result? Unlike most writers who are very B2C-oriented, I have developed a large and diverse corporate portfolio that reflects my passion for B2B content.

NATIONAL MEDIA

After obtaining my journalism degree in 2009, I cut my teeth at Off The Edge, a sociopolitical magazine previously published by The Edge, and then co-founded Free Malaysia Today with a team of journalists.During my days as a journo I wrote hard news, covered a free trade agreement protest in New Delhi, translated speeches for a sitting Member of Parliament and edited a manual on the human right to water.I also wrote long-form features for Esquire magazine on near-death experiences, human trafficking, whistleblower protection and corruption in global sports, among many other topics. My feature on the late and much-beloved Yasmin Ahmad bagged the magazine a Silver Award at the 2014 Magazine Publishers Awards.

REGIONAL CORPORATE WORK

I then changed track to write for large corporates, landing General Electric (GE) as a client in 2013. Their business in the region, at the time, was worth about US$1 billion.I worked with GE’s regional corporate communications team for 3 years to produce content for their regional offices. This included writing speeches for the regional CEO and producing each country’s corporate profiles.It was with GE that I got my first taste of complex industries like aviation, lighting, power generation, healthcare and transportation.Sensing that sustainability was going to be a key consideration for corporates, I pursued certification in the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) sustainability reporting standards.

GOING GLOBAL

I won Quintiq as a client in 2018 and was engaged to produce case studies on their global oil and gas and metals processing projects.This successful Dutch supply chain optimisation company was then newly acquired by Dassault Systèmes (3DS), a French multinational involved in 3D design and simulation, virtual twins and digital transformation.I joined 3DS as a senior editor where I produced global integrated B2B marketing campaigns for internal marketing clients in Tokyo, Paris, Boston and Vancouver.These campaigns include, but are not limited to:
- Electric vehicles
- Smart grids, grid energy storage, renewable energy, Generation IV nuclear reactors and fusion energy
- Manufacturing supply and value chain optimisation
- 5G and IIoT
- Sustainable pharmaceutical manufacturing
- Sustainable mining and metals
I also helped develop the company’s internal sustainability communications bible, its ‘Green Book.’With 3DS, I deepened my understanding of how the world works, saw how industries could produce more sustainable products and services, and experienced the forefront of digital transformation.

Over the past decade, I've carved a niche in content production for complex and highly technical industries.

THE NEXT LEAP

I believe that content is key to selling ideas, products and services. When we're talking about an industrial scale, this can make or break a company’s bottom line or even the public’s acceptance of an important technology.That is why I founded The Spirited Content Agency (Spirited), a B2B content production service for corporates and creative agencies alike.As its principal, my aim with Spirited is to leverage what I’ve learned over a decade and amplify the content production capacities of global brands.I look forward to working with you to make that happen.
